Now in our 60th year, ACNM celebrates and supports a diverse midwifery profession and embraces those prepared dually in nursing and midwifery and those prepared directly in midwifery. Membership is open to certified nurse-midwives (CNMs), certified midwives (CMs), students enrolled in ACME-accredited midwifery education programs and any other interested professionals. The Kansas Affiliate offers quarterly meetings that usually include an education program that is free!

ACNM promotes the profession of midwifery on the local, national and international level.

The Kansas Affiliate ACNM has an active bill for 2015-2016: HB 2280 which will establish full practice authority for Kansas CNMs. Visit: http://kansas.midiwfe.org – advocacy, for a toolkit and information on the legislation. Our members are ally lobbyisits and can help by contacting their state representative and senator.

“The Time is Now: FPA for KS CNMs” – is a fundraising campaign in support of HB 2280 passage. More information is on the web site. While 70% of KS CNMs belong to the state affiliate, increasing our numbers will result in additional financial and political influence.

The Kansas Affiliate maintains a Facebook page and closed group, Basecamp is also used for the legislative committee and Board of Directors.
